Chuck Klosterman is a writer and author who just thinks about the world differently from the rest of us. He has the wonderful ability to take a topic and completely change your point of view of it.
I was first introduced to Chuck Klosterman’s book Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs back around 2005 or so. At the time, a co-worker had been reading it and when I picked the book up to scan over it, I was mildly intrigued. Though it slipped my mind to buy a copy at the time, I was properly introduced to Klosterman through his work with Grantland.
On Grantland, Klosterman’s views on sports and pop-culture were very much a reflection of many of my own thoughts and feelings— some of which I hadn’t even realized I had. This lead me to finally buy my own copy of Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs. It’s an incredibly easy read as Klosterman’s dark humour keeps you moving through as he strings together seemingly unrelated topics into coherent, extremely entertaining arguments.
Klosterman’s latest book is I Wear the Black Hat, which does a wonderful job of raising interesting points and questions about how we view good and bad in society today. If Klosterman has written it, I highly recommend it.
Klosterman just thinks about the world in a way that’s different from most.
